The Board of Regents Meeting and Executive Committee International Council meeting will be held in the Royal College of Physicians on Dublin’s Kildare Street. Distinguished, stylish and atmospheric No.6 Kildare Street has been the home of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland for more than one hundred and fifty years. The building abounds with historic detail from its illustrious past, lending each of its graceful rooms a distinctive character and ambience. High ceilings, tasteful decoration and furnishings, and stained and etched glass are found throughout No.6, creating a stimulating and atmospheric backdrop to any occasion and will make the perfect location for this year’s Board Meeting. The venue is situated on Kildare Street, less than a 5 minute walk from the recommended headquarter hotels.
Clinical Meeting
Venue: Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland
Date: Friday, 9th of October
This year’s clinical meeting will take place in the Royal College of Surgeons on Stephens Green. The RSCSI was granted a charter to govern surgery in Ireland in 1784 and it has been located on Stephens Green for the past 200 years. With a stage of the art conference facility and a fantastic city centre location, this location, steeped in history is a perfect location for this year’s meetings.
International Council Meeting
Venue: Shelbourne Hotel
Date: Friday and Saturday, 9th and 10th of October
This year’s International Council Meeting general sessions will be held in the ballroom of the Shelbourne Hotel, the main headquarter hotel for the ICD 2015 Conference. The Shelbourne Dublin, a Renaissance Hotel is Dublin's largest luxury five star hotel. A timeless landmark in the heart of Dublin overlooking the magnificent St. Stephen’s Green, The Shelbourne has been part of Dublin’s social scene since 1824. Meeting in the great hall is a truly memorable experience where you can be assured of the finest service in this very special venue.
Induction Ceremony
Venue: Exam Hall, Trinity College
Date: Saturday, 10th of October
The Induction
Ceremony will be held in the Exam Hall of the historic Trinity College. Designed
by Sir William Chambers, the Examination Hall faces across the main quadrangle
towards the Chapel. The interior contains many fine furnishings including an
organ in the gallery. This came from the previous Chapel and was designed and
built in Dublin around 1684. It is the oldest existing Irish made organ case
and as such one of the most important in Britain and Ireland. The chandelier
which is made of gilded wood came from the former House of Commons.
